Where I’m headed…

In 2009 I built my music and arts portfolio. I found I enjoyed live music reviews the most, closely followed by writing about theatre – a lifelong passion! In 2009 I also worked on a couple of large book edits and in early 2010 I enjoyed a role as Acting Features Editor with the good folk at Nett Magazine. A welcome new area – science – also arrived in 2009, with a role with National Science Week as Editor of the 10daysofscience website.

Travel writing

Travel journalism entered my formal portfolio in late 2009. Prior to this, I wrote a series of (rather over-laboured!) blogs mainly about my solo travels in The Balkans in 2008.

In late 2010, I travelled overseas for seven months to the Solomon Islands, the U.S, South America, Africa, Turkey and Europe. Several articles from this trip are re-published on this website. It looks like several more will be published in 2012.
