I write. Always have, always will. When other things come and go writing is always there, like a good old friend.

I have been writing professionally for 10 years and a full-time freelancer since 2007.

Where I’m headed…

In 2009 I built my music and arts portfolio. I found I enjoyed live music reviews the most, closely followed by writing about theatre – a lifelong passion! In 2009 I also worked on a couple of large book edits and in early 2010 I enjoyed a role as Acting Features Editor with the good folk at Nett Magazine. A welcome new area – science – also arrived in 2009, with a role with National Science Week as Editor of the 10daysofscience website.

Travel writing

Travel journalism entered my formal portfolio in late 2009. Prior to this, I wrote a series of (rather over-laboured!) blogs mainly about my solo travels in The Balkans in 2008.

In late 2010, I travelled overseas for seven months to the Solomon Islands, the U.S, South America, Africa, Turkey and Europe. Several articles from this trip are re-published on this website. It looks like several more are still to be published in 2012.

This site mainly acts as a repository for my writing, so clients can work out for themselves if we ‘d be a good professional fit. There’s little of my corporate writing work here, as much of this material is confidential or copyright. Please enquire if you wish to know more about the corporate writing projects I’ve completed.
